UN Commission Wants To Ban Blocking Sun As Means Of Climate Control

Some climate change scientists think that putting up sun shields is a good way of preventing climate change. That's right — they want to install gigantic shades that prevent some sunlight from reaching the earth's surface.

In what's got to be the most asinine debacle ever constructed, the UN's Convention on Biological Diversity has now moved to outlaw that solution, according to Discovery News. The Convention apparently wants more "natural" ways of curbing global warming, such as the reduced use of fossil fuels, and is concerned about the side effects of, uh, blocking out earth's source of heat and light. Especially in the middle of a recession!

NASA and other organizations are already seriously considering the use of sun shades, and the Convention's declaration is proving to be highly controversial.
