Why McCain Was in Mass

Despite spending time in Massachusetts, as expected, John McCain dropped the state to former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.  So why did McCain campaign there?

Sure, he wanted to tweak Mitt Romney.  A former POW knows something about psychological warfare, after all.  ... But the real reason McCain spent so much time in the North East -- when he probably could have picked up more votes in California -- is because he needed to raise money there.

The fact that Romney can write his own checks continues to be a strategic advantage.
