Had he held firm, chances are that Barack wouldn't have shown, either -- because I suspect he doesn't know enough about foreign policy or the economic crisis to hold forth about them, solo, for an hour and a half, sans teleprompter.
Here's hoping that McCain will use the opportunity to point out the difference in each man's approach: He wanted to stay in DC to work on the problem; Barack wanted to leave DC to talk about how to work on the problem.
