Debate Disappointment

All in all, I'm mildly disappointed John McCain decided to debate tonight, after all -- unless, that is, a widely acceptable deal has been worked out.

Had he held firm, chances are that Barack wouldn't have shown, either -- because I suspect he doesn't know enough about foreign policy or the economic crisis to hold forth about them, solo, for an hour and a half, sans teleprompter.

Here's hoping that McCain will use the opportunity to point out the difference in each man's approach: He wanted to stay in DC to work on the problem; Barack wanted to leave DC to talk about how to work on the problem.
