I thought Palin's line was pretty funny.  Where does the reference come from?  During the "Black Sox" scandal, a young fan supposedly uttered the immortal line to "Shoeless" Joe Jackson ...

... Palin referenced Biden's wife Jill, a school teacher, by saying something about her reward being in heaven.  This struck me as a bad move, considering Biden's first wife died in that famous car crash...
