Patrick - If you want that idea to become a meme, we will need a stickier name for McCain voters than than older belligerent men. 

Some suggestions:  "Matlock Republicans," "Willfred Brimley voters," "Paleo-cons" (wait, that's taken),  "Nursing Home Republicans," "Checkers Granddads," or even "Grumpy Old Men" ...
