With the primary all wrapped up, the Veepstakes have begun, and another contender has thrown his name into the hat. Jeb Bush, son and brother of two presidents, says he'd be willing to serve if the call came.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said he would consider accepting an invitation to serve as the Republican vice presidential nominee, but doubts that he would be asked to be Mitt Romney’s running mate.
Bush made his comments to the conservative West Palm Beach-based website, Newsmax.com.
“Well I’d consider it, but I doubt I’ll get a call, and I don’t know if it’s the right thing for me to do,” Bush said. “I didn’t run for president for a similar kind of reason, so I’m all in to try to help him get elected.”
Bush added that he believed Sen. Marco Rubio , R-Fla., would be the best choice.
“I think the combination would be extraordinary,” Bush said
The likelihood of Jeb getting the call is pretty low; after all, his name is still rife with controversy, and as President Obama is still fond of throwing his predecessor under the bus, the idea that a Bush would be the VP pick is highly unlikely. However, he's another high-profile Rubio enthusiast, and it's looking like the Florida Senator is the most popular choice.
