Why the ACORN Stonewall?

Thirteen years ago, Barack Obama was being fulsomely praised by the leader of Chicago ACORN. His ties to the radical organization have been documented by Stanley Kurtz (here) and its far-left politics are evident from its "People's Platform."

Well, according to a whistleblower report recently put out by the Consumer Rights League (HT: emailer Joe R.) -- based on ACORN's own internal documents -- the group has engaged in a variety of dubious and possibly illegal practices that harmed both taxpayers and consumers.

The report ends with a recommendation that the Congress investigate the organization (which, of course, has also been involved in vote fraud in Missouri and elsewhere). It seems like a great idea, given that 40% of ACORN's funding comes from you and me -- the taxpayers.

Republican Reps. Feeney, Royce and Hensarling have called upon Barney Frank, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee for an investigation.
