Romney Ads Court Coal Country, Seniors

Due to the rapidly-moving news cycle, I've neglected to post three new Romney television ads that were released mid-week.  The first two focus on running up the margins in coal country, which could play a significant role in regions of Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania:

The RNC might consider just using these clips as essentially free-standing ads in key markets:

"When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, under my plan...electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket...coal powered plants, natural gas -- you name it -- whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to, uh, retrofit their operations.  That will cost money.  They will pass that money onto consumers...So, if someone wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.  It's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."

Another ad stars Marco Rubio discussing Medicare:

"That's not politics, it's math...anyone who wants to leave Medicare like it is, is for letting it go backrupt."

A simple, clear, and factual appeal both current and future seniors.  This is a serious ad about a very serious topic.
