Irony Alert

On this morning's "Reliable Sources," Howard Kurtz invited two guests to discuss the recent Pew poll revealing widespread public distrust of the press.

Hmm.  The guests were an NPR ombudsman and a Pew employee, Mark Jurkowitz, who has written for the "Boston Phoenix" and the Boston Globe.

Where was Brent Bozell on that panel?  Or, for that matter, anyone who could reliably be identified as something other than left-than-center, and thereby offer a different perspective?

Could Kurtz's choice of guests in itself yield a valuable insight or two about why so many Americans are so skeptical of the mainstream media?
