Mexico Issues Travel Alert for Arizona

The Mexican government today issued a travel alert for Mexican citizens traveling to the state of Arizona.

The alert from Mexico's Foreign Relations Department urges Mexicans currently in Arizona to "act with prudence and respect the framework of local laws"--a seemingly refreshing sentiment after America's own president condemned the state law as "irresponsible" and "misguided."

Mexico's alert was also filled with false, politically charged language, including a warning that says, "it should be assumed that any Mexican citizen could be bothered and questioned for no other reason at any moment"--an obviously false claim for anyone who has read the actual statutory language.  Then again, I wouldn't expect the Mexican government to take this issue seriously.

Update: I wouldn't expect MSNBC's Keith Olbermann to take this issue seriously either.  Mr. Olbermann is repeating the Mexican government's false language as fact.  Que una sorpresa!

Update: San Francisco city employees have been BANNED from traveling to the state of Arizona for official business.  Mayor Gavin Newsom issued a moratorium on travel today in reaction to the enactment of the new Arizona immigration law.  Unbelievable.
