Obama Promotes Electric Car Batteries in Michigan

President Obama joined Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm today in breaking ground on one of the plants that will manufacture electric car batteries, part of a $2.4 billion project from the Obama White House.
"We're going to build these products in America," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Wednesday. "We're going to employ Americans. I think that's a strong economic record."
Fantastic.  So the five people in America who actually drive electric cars will have an abundance of batteries.

I know Obama is all about the "green economy", but the market for electric car batteries isn't exactly hopping these days.  And creating more supply in a market that lacks demand is, well, dumb.  How about creating jobs in a sector that is actually economically viable?
