Notable & Quotable: Jake Tapper

During his final week filling in as host of This Week, ABC's White House correspondent Jake Tapper offered a dissenting view among his colleagues in the mainstream media while discussing the latest developments in the circus surrounding dismissed USDA worker Shirley Sherrod:
[Sherrod]'s been offered a job by the Agriculture Department as a Deputy Director of the Office of Advocacy and Outreach, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. And she's saying Andrew Breitbart wants to return to the days of slavery? Now, you can think what Andrew Breitbart did was reprehensible, irresponsible, unfair and a total smear. Does that justify saying he wants us to go back to the days of slavery?
Tapper's questions are completely appropriate--why would you ever promote someone to a position focused on building racial harmony when she's running around national television accusing whites of wanting to bring back slavery

That sure doesn't sound very... harmonious.
