Socialist Propaganda For Sale in D.C.

Over the weekend, I was out and about for a stroll near the White House.  Located just across the street from the White House and Treasury Department is a large store advertising itself as the "White House Gift Shop."  I have no evidence that this is an *official* White House store, but it's full of American presidential paraphernalia and souvenirs from various administrations--everything from small plush dolls of our current commander in chief to autographed memorabilia from Eisenhower's age. 

Being the American history lover that I am, I had to stop in to see what kind of goods they had for sale.  Needless to say, I was SHOCKED to find the following token sandwiched between artifacts from the Kennedy and Nixon administrations: 





For $40 you, too, can own a genuine piece of historical Americana--a 1930s-era Socialist Party poster featuring Vladimir Lenin

Who would've thought just two decades ago that you could buy Socialist propaganda just yards away from the White House?

Change certainly has come to Washington...
