BP President Lays Out 3 Month Plan

BP CEO Tony Hayward pens an editorial the Wall Street Journal today about the company's plans to contain the gulf oil spill, and the steps his company is taking to beef up safety procedures in the future. The first half of his editorial is meaty -- the second half reads like a press release. Overall, I think it's a good step for a company that needs all the PR it can get.
With the exception of the space program in the 1960s, it is difficult to imagine the gathering of a larger, more technically proficient team in one place in peacetime—all under the leadership of the federal government's unified command structure headed by U.S. Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, with the active support of Energy Secretary Stephen Chu and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar.
I especially like the part where Hayward describes in detail the steps BP is taking for the second version of "top hat" -- you can read it all at the Wall Street Journal.
