Law: Just Politics By Other Means

In recent days, President Obama has been much given to invoking the "rule of law" when it comes to terrorism policy.  How, then, is that squared with his manifest indifference toward particular tax, immigration, bankruptcy, corporate and election laws?

As my Townhall column points out, the answer rests in the President's view of what the purpose of the law is -- and that, in turn, is illuminated by his nomination of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court.  Apparently, the President was even more influenced by the radical Critical Legal Studies movement at Harvard Law School than anyone knew.
