In Florida, Candidates Dig Into the Past for Attacks

As Florida heats up, both McCain and Romney are digging back into history to try to find ways to attack the other guy.

For example, the whole "timetables" issue was pretty much forgotten before McCain reminded us of it a few days ago.  Now, the whole "McCain Thought About Being Kerry's VP" story is back for a second (or third) time.  (Mitt Romney is pushing it again this week.)

Back in April, I had a chance to talk to McCain adviser John Weaver and long-time CoS Mark Salter about it.  Here's what they told me back then.
