Krauthammer Slams Obama Over Susan Rice Defense

As I reported yesterday, President Obama gave a full defense of UN Ambassador Susan Rice's explanation of the 9/11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. As a reminder, Rice went on five different Sunday shows five days after the attack and blamed the attack on a YouTube video despite the administration knew the attack was carried out by terrorists within 24 hours. President Obama said yesterday that Rice was simply following direction from the White House to present intelligence to the country that had been handed to her. Obama also said Rice had "nothing to do with Benghazi."

“I’m not going to comment on various nominations I’ll put forward to fill my cabinet,” Obama said. “Susan Rice, she has done exemplary work…she made an appearance at the request of the White House in which she gave her best understanding of the intelligence provided to her.”

“If Senator McCain and Senator Graham want to go after somebody, they should go after me,” he said. “But to go after the UN Ambassador who had nothing to do with Benghazi.”

Last night on Special Report, Charles Krauthammer slammed Obama for sending Rice out to talk about an attack she "had nothing to do" in the first place. He pointed out Obama's failure to acknowledge female Republican Senator Kelly Ayotte, who called for a Benghazi select committee yesterday with Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham.
