Six NASA Astronauts To Hitch Rides Aboard Russian Crafts At $55.8 Million Apiece

NASA is phasing out the shuttle, and is now relying on Russian spacecraft to ferry their astronauts to and from the International Space Station. NASA just settled that Russian contract for $55.8 million per astronaut, coming out to a whopping $335 million for the whole crew.

That actually represents some cost savings for the crew, which has previously flown aboard the space shuttle Discovery at a cost of $1.3 billion per flight.
