More Unsolicited Advice for McCain ...

More unsolicited advice for John McCain (as if he needed it) ...

1.  Remind folks that you were the original anti-Bush Republican.  Let's face it, fair or not, George W. Bush is dragging you down.  You're really not getting much benefit out of your epic struggle with him eight years ago (people have short memories).  I think it's time to remind folks of the donnybrook over direction of the party that went on in 2000.  I know, you've "sort of" been doing that -- but it has to be more than a pro forma effort if you expect the hoi polloi to notice it.  Of course, it might not be tasteful for you to do this, personally -- but surrogates could certainly help remind voters what happened eight short years ago.  This, of course, is dangerous business, inasmuch as there is a danger in alienating the conservative base.  Still, I think it has to be done.  So dig up some videos like this one, and make sure they get out there ...



2.  Get Cindy out there more.  She's comely, and frankly makes you look younger. Let's face it; age and image are an issue -- especially when compared to Obama.  I know it's style over substance -- but that is sadly the game you are in.  Cindy can help.  Enough said.  Go with that ...





3.  Don't chase Obama into solid red states.  Obama is going to spend some money in red states, with the hope of luring you into spending money there.  There is only one reason to spend your money in solid GOP states -- and that would be to avoid the embarrassment of losing a "Republican" state.  Don't fall for it.  Keep your eye on Pennsylvania, Michigan, etc.  If Obama beats you in North Dakota and North Carolina, it's all over for us, anyway ...
