CBO On Astronomical Health Plan Costs

The CBO reports on the astronomical cost that the Kennedy health care plan will have while only covering a small percentage of currently-uninsured people in America.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy's health overhaul bill would cost at least $1 trillion over 10 years but only insure about 16 million. The analysis says that the number of uninsured Americans, now estimated at around 50 million, would decrease to about 36 million once the bill was fully implemented.
