Attempted Christmas Day Terrorist Attack Could Have Been Prevented

A report today from the White House will disclose the results of an internal security assessment on Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's attempted Christmas Day terrorist attack. It's expected to disclose several pieces of information that, if acted upon, could have prevented the incident.

White House national security adviser James Jones characterized the report as "shocking," but also said that President Obama was taking the report very seriously.
There is no theater here in terms of how the President reacts. He is very concerned.... He understand that the stakes are very high, and he understand the standard that he is being held to.
