Sarah Palin Still Playing Coy on 2012

Remember this?

"Legally, of course, there are time frames and that time is coming rapidly in front of all of us," Palin told Fox News Wednesday, "you know, August and September, you do have to start laying out a plan if you are to be one to throw your hat in the ring."

Well, August and September have come and gone, and yet, the best we can get from Sarah is some ambivalence about being "shackled" from speaking the truth. It seems the former Alaskan governor has backed down from what many saw as her self-imposed deadline for entering the 2012 race, and everyone from NRO to RedState is calling her out on it.

Of course, earlier in September, she declared her defiance of imposed deadlines, saying, "I'm not going to let the media tell me, dictate when a drop-dead date should be."

To her credit, she never gave an exact timeline, so the firestorm surrounding her supposed "broken promise" isn't exactly fair. Her indecision is understandable--after all, it's a big job she's considering--but for her to say she doesn't mean to "string anyone along" is disingenuous. She's kept us questioning for months with no definitive answer. If that's not the definition of a political tease, what is?

Time is running short, Sarah--and so is our patience.
