BP Oil Spill Cleanup Not Looking Especially Promising

BP is somewhat excited about this tube they've just installed somewhere close to the site of the leak, even though it isn't clear how much oil that tube will actually suck up. Work has also begun on drilling other oil wells that might relieve the pressure from the existing leak. None of this sounds especially promising to environmentalists, who are demanding that BP clear up how much oil is actually spewing out of the leak, and questioning the long-term viability of their cleanup plans.

It's also possible BP doesn't even know how much oil is coming out, and it's probable they're still in a massive state of confusion as to how to fix it. I blogged earlier about the possible political fallout of this, and as the problem grows bigger, those political fallouts are only going to get even worse.
