NRCC Surpasses Fundraising Goal

Good news for regaining the majority: last night's National Republican Campaign Committee fundraising dinner brought in 6 million dollars, one million more than the goal organizers set for the event. Attendees said that they had never seen more Member participation; apparently the message is starting to sink in that Congressional elections in 2010 are, uh, a really big deal. From Illinois Rep. Peter Roskam:
There is a sense of rejuvenation among House Republicans, unified by the careless abandonment in which Speaker Pelosi presides over Congress.  Tonight’s fundraising success is the first of many opportunities for Republicans to beat the expectations game – an important challenge as we fight our way back to the majority.
