Santorum Could Have Stepped It Up

Santorum's CPAC speech was a mixed bag.

"You can blame all sorts of things, but ultimately, the buck stops here; we are responsible," he said to a pretty impressive CPAC crowd at 8:30AM on Saturday morning.

Santorum is a firebrand, but his speech at CPAC wasn't branded. It was smart, and it was delivered effectively, but just lacked the bang given by Pence, Romney, and Pawlenty.
Now we're at a point where we're going to make a decision. Are we going to go towards European socialism? Or are we going to stick with [our] principles?
Santorum's speech was littered with these platitudes; that's understandable, given that he's a public figure. But Santorum was the originator of the the phrase "Islamic facism," and it would've been nice to see him get into specifics.

He did that a little bit, when went into the issues with Iran:.
Iran is the principle sponsor of terrorism around the world. Imagine, now, Iran with a nuclear weapon. Imagine now Iran, a sponsor of terrorism, was behind the events of 9.11. How easy would it be to go and wipe out the people behind Iran.
Well said.
