Obama at Fundraiser: Americans Aren't Really Paying Attention

Oh really, Mr. President? At a fundraisier (one of six yesterday) last night in Philadelphia, President Obama claimed that Americans aren't "paying attention" to the ups and downs of his campaign. He must be forgetting that Americans are paying attention not only to his campaign, but to the ups and downs of his presidency.

"The good news is, I think the American people agree with us," Obama told diners at a fundraiser at the Franklin Institute here. "They’re not following ... the ups and downs, the ins and outs of this campaign. But they do have a sense of what’s true. They have pretty good instincts about what works and they’re not persuaded that an economy built on the notion that everybody here is on their own is somehow going to result in a stronger, more prosperous America. So our job is to just make sure that we get that message out."

Campaigner-in-Chief indeed.
