Hilary Rosen Doubles Down: Spare the Faux Outrage About Ann Romney

Last night on CNN, as we've written already on Townhall today, Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen claimed Ann Romney's life as a stay at home mom to five boys, beating breast cancer, living with MS and respecting a marriage, doesn't count as a real job. Even after outrage from both liberals and conservatives about the comment, Rosen is standing by her statement and wrote on CNN.com last night, "spare me the faux outrage."

My Twitter feed was on fire after an appearance Wednesday night on CNN's AC360, where I said that I thought it was wrong for Mitt Romney to be using his wife as his guide to women's economic struggles when she "had never worked a day in her life."

Spare me the faux anger from the right who view the issue of women's rights and advancement as a way to score political points. When it comes to supporting policies that would actually help women, their silence has been deafening. I don't need lectures from the RNC on supporting women and fighting to increase opportunities for women; I've been doing it my whole career.

On CNN this morning, Rosen tried to claim her statements weren't "about Ann Romney at all" but about struggling women as a whole, despite attacking Romney by name last night.

Speaking of "faux outrage," remember when liberals accused Republicans of comparing women to insects? Yeah, they did that.
