Barack Obama is a Great Speaker

A great speaker is able to credibly and authoritatively lie to people. President Obama has become more and more brazen recently, going from merely stretching the truth to outright deception. When discussing health care reform during his press conference today, the President said,

"It will not add to our deficits over the next decade."
The final health care bill has not been written yet. However, the CBO has estimated its current incarnation as costing north of $1.6 trillion over the next decade. The political Left has insisted that this is on the high side and the final bill may cost "only" $1 trillion over the next decade.

Regardless of the final total cost, it's going to be a boatload of cash. The stimulus and bailout numbers that have been thrown around have desensitized us to how much money we're really talking about, but one trillion dollars is one trillion dollars. This is not insignificant in the least.

Add to this ex-HHS Secretary Michael Leavitt explaining this morning that government health programs always cost more than initially estimated and Obama's claim that he will not raise taxes on Americans making less than $250,000 per year, and something has to give. Either the Obama plan will add to the deficit, or it will cost far more than expected, or he will have to raise taxes to pay for it, but somewhere Obama's promises have to be broken.
