Biden Calls Florida Anchor 'Mean'

Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says a television interviewer who asked him about Obama's "marxist" tax plans was "mean" to him.

“I know this has been a pretty mean campaign," Biden said on the stump in Greenville, North Carolina Monday morning. "I was on a television station the other day and doing a satellite feed to a major network in Florida. And the anchor quotes Karl Marx and says in a sense, isn't Barack Obama Karl Marx? You know, I mean, folks, this stuff you’re hearing -- this stuff you're hearing in this campaign, some of it is pretty ugly and some of the innuendo is pretty ugly.”

Biden said Obama supporters must put stop those who "lie about Barack's record and also question his character."

In the offending interview, Barbara West of WFTV-TV in Orlando, Florida asked Biden if he was "embarrassed by the blatant attempts to register phony voters by ACORN, an organization that Barack Obama has been tied to in the past?"

She also inquired, ""How is Sen. Obama not being Marxist if he intents to spread the wealth around?" and "Are you forewarning Americans that .. American's days as a world's leading power are over?"

After the interview concluded the Obama campaign canceled an upcoming segment with Biden's wife Jill that was scheduled on the station.
