Talk About "Pay to Play"

Looks like Democrats were doing whatever it took to win "supporters" over for health care "reform."

According to a report from House Republicans, the AARP is positioned to receive generous "kickbacks" if the Democratic bills become law.

At the same time, it appears that The White House and Democrat Senator Baucus had made a secret deal with pharmaceutical companies that involved a limitation on the amount the companies would be required to pay to the government under the "reforms," and in exchange, the companies would run ads in support of the "reform."

How good can legislation be when people have to be "induced" in these unsavory ways to support it?
