A Good Start

NBC has released an upcoming television schedule -- with an 8 pm "family hour," a 9 pm "blockbuster hour" and a 10 pm "adult themes" hour.

It's always a welcome development when there's a recognition that earlier hours when children are awake (and presumably watching) should feature programming that's different from the more adult-oriented fare that's available later on.

But NBC might want to take a look at some of the fare they're touting for the "family hour."  I love "30 Rock" -- but from time to time, its themes aren't exactly kiddy stuff (and though I haven't seen it, my guess is that the same applies for "My Name Is Earl").
