My Boss Laughs at Me

So, yesterday my boss walks into my office carrying a large fountain drink and a take-out bag.

He's laughing at me. Heartily. If his hands had not been otherwise occupied, I'm sure he would have been pointing. I ask him why. He gestures at the fountain drink in his hand.

I can see through the clear, plastic top that the substance inside is of a generic, brownish, bubbly soda color. I tell him I'm not sure why Coke is so funny.

"It's not Coke," he says. "It's Vanilla Coke. And it's in the fountain at the Cosi across the street."

That's right. The Cosi across the street from my office. Approximately 80 yards from my desk, which in case you're wondering, is a whole heck of a lot closer than New Jersey, which is where my eBay Vanilla Coke came from. You see? It's the irony that made him laugh.

So, no need to order Vanilla Coke off eBay for a while or smuggle it in from Canada in exchange for decent health care. Instead, I will only have to endure the bad service and food at Cosi. Hmmm, on second thought, I'm glad I have eBay as a back-up.

Either way, I made my boss laugh. That's gotta be good for something, right?
