Al Gore To The Rescue!

Following up on Greg's post, Al Gore may be recruited to negotiate the release of two journalists who are imprisoned in North Korea after Pyongyang charged them with illegal entry. Gore owns Current TV, the outlet for which the two journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, were working. Gore's presence could save the U.S. from having to issue a tricky "official" apology, but at the same time provide a needed placating force to satisfy the plucky North Koreans. Apparently, Gore is well-known enough so that Jong Il's bizzaro rationale thinks "official" words from him are worth something.
