NB: Spouses Come First

Working off the McCain-Iseman debacle in The New York Times, a piece in the Health section of the LA Times applies to married people the "When Harry Met Sally" question: Can men and women really just be friends without sex getting in the way? 

The article's conclusion is a qualified "yes" -- but what does it say about the state of our culture that people actually have to be warned explicitly to put their relationships with their spouses first?
