President Donald Trump ordered more strikes on Iran after saying earlier he believed the ceasefire was over, according to the United States Central Command.
Late Wednesday night, Central Command said in a statement that "U.S. forces struck approximately 90 Iranian military targets including air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure along Iran’s coastline."
CENTCOM further added that the goal was "to further degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping and innocent civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz."
Trump posted to Truth Social earlier on Wednesday evening that "this is in retribution for yesterday’s bombing of ships by Iran."
"If it happens again, it will get much worse!" he warned.
The United States has said that Iran repeatedly broke the memorandum of understanding by attacking cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
“At the direction of the Commander in Chief, U.S. Central Command forces have started conducting additional strikes against Iran to further degrade their ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” the Central Command statement posted to X on Wednesday evening.
“The United States is holding Iran accountable for recent unjustified aggression against commercial shipping and civilian crews freely navigating a vital international waterway,” it continued.

Earlier on Wednesday, Trump floated the possibility of completing “the job” in Iran and referred to the Iranian negotiators as “scum” that he no longer wants to work with.

“They’re not doing a service to the people. And I’m not sure I want to make a deal with them […] Let’s just finish the job,” he said.
Trump is currently flying back from Turkey after attending the NATO summit.
