A shocking scene unfolded at an event featuring New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Monday, where a credentialed journalist who has made a name for herself as a Luigi Mangione fangirl openl justify the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, arguing that he was guilty of “social murder” and deserved to be viewed no differently than Osama bin Laden.
Another journalist in the group went even further, saying she hoped Thompson’s children enjoyed their father’s “blood money.”

"His children are better off without him," one of the 'journalists' said.
"They need to learn to not be like their dad," another chimed in. "And enjoy the blood money, kids."
When a legitimate reporter asked for clarification, the supposed journalists doubled down.
"I'm standing on business. F**k Brian Thompson," she said. "I don't give a flying f**k about him. Millions of Americans liked it. Millions of Americans suffer every single day from black and white politics."
When it comes to American healthcare, we had a literal infant named Evisela, who, because of how negligent her health insurance was, she died. An infant died. So if you guys are okay with someone like Brian Thompson being around, and that being a part of our society that says more about you as a person, because you look absolutely monstrous, defending someone like that... It's not like we don't understand heroic violence, or, like, when violence is good. Um, there's a... that's, like, as American as America gets. I mean, why do we protect the Second Amendment so much? Is it to allow people to shoot up schools? Or is it to protect our democracy? I think it's to protect our democracy.
It's not saying, you know, we should all take up arms, but when your democracy is eroded and there's no other option, like, what are we meant to do?
Behold the inhumanity of the left.
The same people who claim that communism or socialism will work “if it’s done the right way” often display the same kind of rhetoric and hostility that defined the typical collectivist figures like Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, and Mao Zedong.
They do not seek to improve systems like American healthcare in a constructive way; they simply crave destruction. Once murder becomes a vehicle for political change, a movement has lost the plot entirely. It no longer seeks to work with fellow citizens, but instead to impose its will on the rest of America through fear and force in the name of what it believes is best for society. Again, certainly not much different from original communist thought.
Ironically, many of the accusations Mangione’s supporters level at Thompson are tied not simply to Thompson himself or the company he led, but to broader government policies that have contributed to systemic problems within healthcare. Yet these same people continue to argue that the very institutions responsible for creating many of those problems should be responsible for fixing them.
This comes as the left has denied for years that it has a problem with endorsing violence. The Marxist left, in particular, has often displayed a greater tolerance for political extremism and hostility, once again raising questions about what it truly means when they claim communism or socialism will be implemented “the right way.”
