The attack on an ROTC class at Old Dominion University could have been a lot worse. Luckily for everyone there, the cadets weren't easy prey, with one of them stabbing and killing the jihadist gunman.
But that's not how things usually go. Instead, most of the time, people die, and for Virginia Democrats, that's just fine.
I mean, what else can you get from this diatribe, anyway?

That's right, ladies and gentlemen, you don't need a gun on a college campus because a cadet managed to stab one bad guy and someone else gave up their life to stop another.
You can just die and be a hero, so why would you need a gun?
Honestly, this is the most insane attempt at justifying keeping people disarmed on college campuses I've ever seen. Yes, Labrescu was a hero for his actions, much like how teachers in numerous other school shootings have been for doing the same. I'm not about to dismiss that in the least.
But saying that you don't need a gun because someone might die to protect you is the most privileged, ivory-tower nonsense I've seen Virginia Democrats spew since, well, at least 30 minutes before McGuire said this crap.
What happened at Old Dominion University wasn't the exception, though. Pro-gun folks have often said you need armed Americans in places like our colleges, and the cadet who took down the attacker wasn't unarmed. He didn't have the most ideal weapon, but he sure as hell had something handy, and he used it instead of cowering in fear.
Yes, those who give their lives for their fellow men and women in such shootings don't cower, either. However, they end up just as dead, and that shouldn't be acceptable to anyone.
Unfortunately, the Left doesn't care about you or your safety. They care about their narrative, and if your death can serve the narrative, it will. That's what happened here and nothing else. It's about trying to make the idea of campus carry untenable, even though the gun-free zone laws didn't stop this terrorist from taking an illegally purchased gun into a gun-free zone to commit the crime of murder.
But, hey, you can sacrifice yourself should you find yourself in that situation and, maybe, let someone escape.
Or not. You won't know because you'll be dead, just like Virginia Democrats want.
Just remember this the next time they pretend to be all about compassion and empathy for human life. I mean, I'm down with the most communist college professor being able to carry a firearm for self-defense while at work, but they're down with you being murdered by a terrorist if it lets them make a political point.
I think it's clear that they understand what words mean. Either that or they're willfully trying to redefine them as they did for radical, vague terms like "woman."
