'Want Him to Hide Away?' Was This the Most Tone Deaf Post Yet From Harris?

We've seen some pretty boneheaded moves from Vice President Kamala Harris as we're getting closer to the election and she, the Harris-Walz ticket, and her whole team are running out of time to make the case to the American people on why she should get a promotion. What we just saw from this past weekend may have been some of the most tone deaf examples from the Democratic nominee thus far, though.

On Saturday, Harris made a big show of how she had released her medical records and took some shots at former and potentially future President Donald Trump in the process. As many took to social media to point out, though, the medical concerns are not so much with Trump as they are with President Joe Biden. Worse, Harris has covered up for the president, with polls showing that the American people believe she was complicit.

Not only is the Harris-Walz campaign failing in the final weeks before the election, but Biden looks to have it out for Harris after his fellow Democrats forced him out of the race and Harris ended up as his replacement, despite never receiving a primary vote. Axios also reported over the weekend on "tensions" between the Biden and Harris camps.

While it would be smart for Harris to at least try to distance herself from the Biden-Harris administration, she can't really do so as the sitting vice president. Biden has also specifically worked to make sure she can't do that, as he's tied them together, from his appearance at a press briefing earlier this month, to his appearance on "The View" last month.

Further, Harris isn't doing herself any favors. While on "The View" last week, she was asked if she would do anything differently from the president, and she couldn't think of anything. She's tried to claim that she's different in that she's not Biden, and is a woman of color, just as her campaign surrogate, Mitch Landrieu, has tried to claim.

In addition to covering Harris releasing her records, the Associated Press also last week reminded how Harris has defended Biden.

Harris is perhaps most complicit in that she can and ought to invoke the 25th Amendment, though she has yet to do so.

While speaking to reporters on Saturday in a rare move, Harris tried to claim that we're seeing "just a further example of [Trump's] lack of transparency." She also brought up Trump's lack of interest in a second debate as well as doing an interview with CBS News' "60 Minutes."

Harris has been criticized for her lack of interviews, including by liberal outlets. Other friendly media outlets are taking note of how the Democratic nominee has been "playing it safe." Even the interviews she has done, despite being with friendly interviewers, have been trainwrecks.

Trump has also already made clear multiple times he was not open to a second debate with Harris.

And, it's rich for Harris to bring up "60 Minutes" when CBS News is still under fire for putting out an edited clip and transcript of her particularly poor response on Israel. The Trump-Vance campaign has also addressed not appearing for an interview, and it seems they made the right call.

Harris was full of some particularly bad remarks and posts on Sunday, though, including when it comes to claims about Trump and his staff.

"Why does his staff want him to hide away? Are they afraid that people will see that he is too weak and unstable to lead America?," one post even asked. Harris had again been bragging about how she had just shared her own medical records.

Such a post has received approximately 23,000 replies and over 2,000 quoted replies calling her out for this narrative, though it's one she keeps sticking to.

Harris didn't just put out such a post over social media, though. She also egged on the crowd on such an issue while campaigning in Greenville, North Carolina.

"And he's not being transparent with the voters," she tried to claim. "So, check this out! He refuses to release his medical records," she said about Trump, to boos from the crowd. In addition to congratulating herself for releasing her records, as well as firing up the crowd even more, Harris continued to bring up "60 Minutes" and the debates.

With a cringeworthy tone, and as she put her hand to her face in a thinking gesture, she pointed out, "and here's the thing, here's the thing, it makes you wonder, it makes you wonder, why does his staff want him to hide him away? One must question, one must question, are they afraid that people will see that he is too weak and unstable to lead America?! Is that what's going on?!"

"So, folks, for these reasons and so many more, it is time to turn the page," Harris insisted to applause, despite how she is the sitting vice president and Trump hasn't been in office for over three and a half years now.

This woman just keeps getting increasingly tone deaf, and the desperation is really starting to show. Trump is anything but not transparent, and has also been campaigning and holding rallies across the country, even and including in deep blue states.

He had just come from Coachella in California, with news coming out around the time of Harris' post that Trump may have been the target of yet another assassination attempt. The Republican nominee will also be at Madison Square Garden in New York City on October 27

Harris put out a clip of her discussing the matter on "The Roland Martin Show," another friendly media hit with a particularly far-left host. She raised the same talking points, as if repeating them somehow makes them more truthful.

Plenty of others have also weighed in to point out how ridiculous Harris looks for such a narrative. RealClearPolitics' Tom Bevan even noted it was a fireable offense for whatever staff member thought this one up.

Democratic allies in the mainstream media have similarly fallen in line. While appearing on NBC News' "Meet the Press," Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was confronted by host Kristen Welker, who thought it necessary to harp on Trump's cholesterol levels. Johnson expertly put her in her place, though.

Harris also spoke at Koinonia Christian Center in Greenville, where her odd remarks were a trending topic over X that same day. Trump currently leads Harris by +0.5 in North Carolina, per RealClearPolling

Such posts and appearances come as Harris, in what looks to be another desperate move, has just booked an appearance with Fox News' Bret Baier for Wednesday.
