Seven School Districts in This State Promote Transgender Ideology

Last month, Townhall highlighted how several school districts in North Carolina have policies providing training to staff promoting LGBTQ ideologies in the classroom and policies designed to keep gender identities of students hidden from parents.

This was exposed by parental rights organization Parents Defending Education (PDE).

“Every school district in America that insists on hiding information from parents needs to be called out and exposed. These parental exclusion policies are deteriorating the trust parents should have in their children's school staff,” Michele Exner, senior adviser at PDE told Townhall.

“They are sending the message ‘we know better than you’ and it is an insult to every parent in that school district. Parents will not stand for it and will continue to push back against these nonsense policies,” she added.

This week, documents obtained by PDE and shared with Townhall show that severn school districts in Missouri are promoting transgender ideology.

This list includes Liberty Public Schools, North Kansas City Schools, Mehlville School District, Kansas City Public Schools, Saint Louis Public Schools, Hazelwood School District, and Parkway Schools.

The majority of the school districts have policies that allow students to keep their so-called “gender identity” a secret from their parents.

It doesn’t stop there. Parkway Schools, in particular, mandates staff and students to use the preferred pronouns of other students. And, the school district uses a “Genderbread Person” to teach staff about transgender issues.

At St. Louis Public Schools, “mis-gendering” a so-called “transgender” student can qualify as sexual harassment (via PDE):

The district further explains to staff in the document: “Failing to recognize transgender students by his or her identified gender is a violation of the District’s sexual harassment policy.” This includes “intentionally mis-gendering individuals.” Students also “are always allowed to use the bathroom” that matches their preferred gender identity. The document further promotes using “they/them” pronouns for singular students and the title “Mx.” instead of “Ms.” or “Mr.”

The district additionally explains that “pronouns can change often” and that “pronouns can change as students explore the gender spectrum.” Staff are told that “it’s important to frequently integrate pronouns into meetings or classes.” Staff are also told to “use an LGBTQ-inclusive curriculum and examples.”

At Kansas City Public Schools, staff members are instructed to “use the student’s legal name and the pronoun corresponding to the student’s gender assigned at birth” when talking to parents, unless instructed otherwise.

“These issues have no place in our nation’s schools or in the education of our nation’s children. It is disturbing that Missouri schools have also succumbed to this unhinged ideology,”  Casey Ryan, Investigative Reporter at Parents Defending Education, said.

“Schools have no right usurping the role of parents in teaching their children right from wrong. Parents must speak up and ensure their children are receiving a proper education without blatant activism from teachers or school administrators,” Ryan added.
