Border Patrol Union Backs Texas In Unprecedented Move

The official Border Patrol Union voiced its support for Texas as Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) takes action against President Joe Biden’s “catastrophic” border policies.

This week, The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) released a statement saying that “rank-and-file” Border Patrol agents “appreciate and respect” the measures Abbott is taking to stem the historic amount of illegal migrants pouring into the U.S. under the Biden Administration.

The 18,000-member Union dismissed headlines that claimed they would arrest Texas National Guardsmen for following their lawful orders. Instead, the NBPC vowed to work together and respect each other’s jobs, adding that unlawful orders will not be tolerated.

“Rank-and-file BP agents appreciate and respect what TX has been doing to defend their state in the midst of this catastrophe that the Biden Admin has unleashed on America,” the union wrote on social media. “We want to be perfectly clear: there is no fight between rank-and-file BP agents and the TX NG, Gov. Abbott, or TX DPS. It may make flashy headlines, but it simply isn't true.”

A senior CBP official clarified that the agency has no plans to tear down Abbott’s razor wire, which was installed along the southern border to prevent illegal aliens from crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

He said their relationship with the Texas National Guard remains strong, and their only focus is restoring the “mission of protecting this country and its people.”

As polls cite the nation’s immigration crisis, voters, including long-time Democrats, are shifting away from another Biden term.

To save face, the president blamed Republican lawmakers for disagreeing on a deal.

“For too long, we all know the border’s been broken. It’s long past time to fix it. That’s why two months ago, I instructed my team to begin negotiations with a bipartisan group of Senators to seriously, and finally address the border crisis. For weeks now, that’s what they’ve done. Working around the clock, through the holidays, and over weekends,” Biden stated in the release.

“What’s been negotiated would — if passed into law — be the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border we’ve ever had in our country.”
