Democrats have a difficult time retaining staff— more so than Republicans. And there's a reason for that.
Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-Mich.) now has the second-highest turnover in the delegation.
In the last ten months, Scholten has blown through her senior staff in her official office, also going through several of her campaign managers in a short time frame.
As of October, Scholten had the 29th-highest turnover among members of the House and is in the 93rd percentile for turnover.
Despite only being in Congress for ten months, Scholten is currently on her third Chief of Staff, which is a very high turnover rate for that role. The Democrat also had three campaign managers during her 2020 election.
"Hillary Scholten's short time in Congress is a muddled mess. Scholten plays nice on camera, but she's a nightmare boss who drives away staff," NRCC Spokesman Mike Marinella told Townhall.
Recently, Fox News reported on her discriminatory job listing where she strongly encouraged people, except straight white men, to apply. However, The outlet pointed out that most of her staff is white males.
The listing, which has a salary between $85,000 and $120,000, also encourages alphabet people who belong to the rainbow.
"We strongly encourage women (and all individuals who do not identify as male), people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities, veterans, and members of other underrepresented communities to apply," the listing reads.
The listing continued to note that the Democrat feels that more diversity in the office would lead to a happier workplace for all. However, given recent departures, that is simply not true.
"Our office deeply values staff diversity (both because we recognize we are a better office for it and because we know that it is objectively the right thing to do!)," the notice read.
