Former CNN host Don Lemon told Page Six at the TIME 100 gala on Wednesday night he not in shock or mad at the network for firing him because that's just not who he is.
"No, I am a very resilient person. I've had a very full life with lots twist and turns. I come from strong, sturdy stock in Louisiana and I am lucky enough to be in a position where I don't have to worry about, you know, not having a place to live, or a home, whatever. I have people who love me," Lemon said.
"Are you mad? You angry?" the reporter asked.
"No, because that's not in my nature. I am not an angry person. I'm not mad," he replied.
Lemon said his firing happened for a reason and he looks forward to what happens next.

Lemon had been on thin ice after not getting along with his cohosts on CNN's morning show for months, with reaching his last chance after saying presidential candidate Nikki Haley was not in her prime because she was in her 50s. Lemon had to apologize to his coworkers for the remark, but he did not say sorry to Haley. He then was ordered to undergo sensitivity training.
