Protests in Minneapolis over the death of George Lloyd in police custody turned violent Wednesday after a man was shot to death. The homicide was only part of the chaos, however, as people rioted, set fires, caused extensive property damage, and looted stores. Among those apparently supportive of this type of behavior, which has little to do with getting justice for Floyd, is the daughter of Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar.
According to conservative journalist Andy Ngo, her daughter retweeted a message from the Twin Cities chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America asking for supplies for “comrades” in the streets "protesting." The list includes hockey sticks and tennis rackets.
Omar is the representative for Minnesota's 5th Congressional District, which includes Minneapolis as well as some suburbs.

As a reminder, this is what "protesting" looked like:

The fire at AutoZone seems to have started back up; there are least five separate fires going, of varying sizes. pic.twitter.com/rTuzaG6g6k

In this strip, no business is spared. Nearly every window smashed. I’ve seen cars packed to the brim with looted goods. Store security alarming won’t stop chirping. pic.twitter.com/qRcX6c5ky9

The building set on fire at the BLM Minneapolis riot is collapsing now. It looks like the city is just letting fires continue. Firefighters were attacked when they responded to the auto parts store engulfed in flames earlier. pic.twitter.com/okAsLX7XoZ
