'We Intend to Get Those Answers:' Leader McConnell Signals Support for Obama Admin Subpoenas

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell confirmed that the GOP Senate majority is taking steps to issue subpoenas to former Obama administration officials while speaking on the floor of the upper chamber on Tuesday. Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) indicated that he will hold a vote on a far-reaching subpoena for Obama Administration officials involved in the Russia probe and FISA abuse, now with the support of Leader McConnell.

Sen. Graham's subpoena covers officials including James Clapper, Sally Yates, James Comey, Andrew McCabe and John Brennan.

The Kentucky Republican cited “institutional unfairness” within the intelligence community, and promised to get answers on the reported abuse under the Obama administration.

“Senate Republicans are taking steps to issue new subpoenas to a wide variety of Obama administration officials," Leader McConnell said. "The American people deserve answers about how such abuses could happen. And we intend to get those answers."
