Speaker Pelosi unveiled Democrats’ proposed COVID-19 relief package on Tuesday, even as she refuses to allow the House to return to D.C. This version totals to an additional $3 trillion of relief.
The 1,815-page piece of legislation is, once again, filled with ideological wishes that are unrelated to coronavirus relief. Speaker Pelosi also allowed no GOP input in the crafting of this package that is virtually dead-on-arrival. Included in Speaker Pelosi’s bill are voting reforms, a repeal of the SALT cap, diversity incentives for marijuana businesses and other unrelated wish-list items.
-- $3.6 BILLION for “contingency planning, preparation, and resilience of elections for Federal office.”

-- HOUSING ASSISTANCE … $75 BILLION
-- $1.5 BILLION for broadband hotspots.
-- $10 BILLION for small businesses.
-- $25 BILLION for the Postal Service.
1) House Dem coronavirus bill is largely an homage to liberal Democrats in the caucus who weren’t pleased with the previous four bills. In fact, liberals hoped to to spend $4 trillion on this measure, not $3 trillion.

Looks like Pelosi's idea to roll back the SALT cap made it into the bill. (h/t @danielmarans) pic.twitter.com/r4pQRRgmg9

Pelosi's wish list bill is a nightmare scenario for voter fraud (and federalism).

GOP leadership condemned Speaker Pelosi’s use of an economic relief package, written in secret, to further her ideological agenda:
McCarthy on Hse Dems coronavirus bill: It'll be the wishlist of the liberals, to try to change election law, fund Planned Parenthood, and make sure sanctuary cities get the chunk of the money.

Nancy Pelosi has refused to let the House show up to work for weeks.
— Steve Scalise (@SteveScalise) May 12, 2020
Yet she just dropped a massive 1,800-page, $3 TRILLION partisan spending bill full of liberal wish list items that she wrote completely in secret. ??
What a joke. Americans deserve better.
House Democrats are *yet again* trying to use this pandemic to advance their partisan agenda.

Instead of working across the aisle, they crafted an 1,800 page bill behind closed doors that is nothing more than a far-left wishlist.
They cannot be trusted to govern responsibly. pic.twitter.com/WtkIlEbY9n
What's in Speaker Pelosi's coronavirus bill?
— Oversight Committee Republicans (@GOPoversight) May 12, 2020
?Diversity provisions for marijuana businesses
?Tax breaks for wealthy blue-state donors
?A federal election takeover that mandates mail-in voting & prohibits voter ID
Seriously? This is NOT the time to play swamp politics!
Speaker Pelosi's counterpart in the upper chamber, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), also rebuked her hyper partisan legislation:
“But what you've seen in the House is not something designed to deal with reality, but designed to deal with aspirations. This is not a time for aspirational legislation. This is a time for practical response to the coronavirus pandemic.”

As House Democrats, under the leadership of Speaker Pelosi, continue to use economic relief legislation as an avenue to implement their ideological goals, don't forget that House Democrat' Whip, Rep. Clyburn (D-SC), foreshadowed this in March:
"This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision," the Democratic whip said.
Speaker Pelosi's spending-heavy legislation, which draws the focus away from Americans in need of economic relief, is unlikely to pass her own House. As the Senate returns to work, Speaker Pelosi refuses to return the lower chamber to D.C.
