On Sunday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo called his mom to wish her a happy Mother's Day. He hasn't been able to visit her, but his sister has been taking of her, and she has the company of a few grandchildren.
Fox News meteorologist was glad to see that the governor could chat with his mom on the special occasion, but she added a dark message. Dean suggests that it's thanks to Cuomo's nursing home policy, which mandates that facilities accept COVID-positive patients if they can care for them, that her husband lost his mom and dad to COVID in assisted living and nursing homes.

Dean has no doubt that it was Cuomo's policy that doomed her in-laws, as well as countless other families.

Former New York Gov. George Pataki called for an investigation into Cuomo's measure. He started off with a few questions, such as why New York officials didn't take advantage of the USNS Comfort, which had "hundreds of beds waiting to take coronavirus-positive patients," instead of sending patients into senior facilities. As Gov. Cuomo himself has noted, the elderly are the most vulnerable citizens in the country right now. Why place them in immediate danger?
Gov. Cuomo finally admitted on Sunday that maybe it's time to change the disastrous policy. Now, all nursing home staff must be tested for COVID twice a week, and any nursing home that fails to follow health procedures will lose their license, the governor warned.
For many families, it appears it's too late.
