CNN Anchor Slammed After Comparing Trump Pulling Money for WHO to Betraying 9/11 First Responders

CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour was heavily criticized after comparing President Trump's decision to pulling the funding the United States provides to the World Health Organization because of their mishandling and coverup of COVID-19 during the early stages of the pandemic.

Amanpour said cutting off funding to the WHO during the ongoing pandemic is akin to "pulling the plug on firefighters in the aftermath of 9/11."

The comparison is nonsensical given how 9/11 first responders were not involved in the planning and execution of the terrorist attack that killed almost 3,000 Americans in a single day.

The WHO, on the other hand, either knew about the seriousness of the disease and still downplayed the gravity of the situation because they are beholden to the Chinese Communist Party, or they foolishly trusted in China's word about the virus despite the country's lies about past outbreaks to save face.

Either way, the WHO has a lot to answer for. Even still, they came out against the travel restrictions Trump put in place in an early attempt to delay the virus from reaching the United States.

Amanpour got a lot of responses pointing out how ridiculous it was to make such a comparison.
