A Fox News poll released this week shows President Trump’s approval rating continuing to climb during the COVID-19 pandemic. The president’s job approval rating ticked up to 49 percent, a record high for his presidency. President Trump has seen consistent upticks in approval ratings, both overall and for his handling of COVID-19 throughout the epidemic:

The poll also found that President Trump and presumed Democratic nominee Joe Biden sit at a statistical dead heat. Both the incumbent GOP president and the former vice president earned 42 percent of support, while 16 percent of those surveyed remain undecided. President Trump’s electoral standing against former Vice President Biden has grown since 2019:

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) appears to be gearing up to drag the former vice president over the primary finish line, after Biden’s last standing opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) exited the primary on Wednesday. However, another new poll found that 56 percent of Democratic voters prefer New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as the nominee over the former vice president. Cuomo has served as a voice of reason during COVID-19 compared to other Democrats who are instilling hysteria and pushing false narratives about the Trump administration for political gain.
None of these poll numbers represent good news for Biden, who was assumed to be the Democrats’ best chance at beating President Trump in November.
