Dr. Anthony Fauci gave hope to the American people on Wednesday morning, indicating that we may be rounding the corner of this COVID-19 epidemic, during an interview on Fox News' America’s Newsroom:

Dr. Fauci notes that there has been a decrease in hospitalizations, signaling that some areas may peak earlier than expected:

This potential turnaround is contingent on the continuing of social distancing, per the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines. The White House task force and lawmakers in Congress continue to urge Americans to stay home except whenever possible. Overall, the practice of social distancing is working, as Americans cut down on travel and social gatherings, as Dr. Fauci notes:
Dr. Fauci on social distancing: “Now is not the time to pull back at all. It’s the time to intensify,” he says on @AmericaNewsroom

“Right now, it looks like it’s going to be less than the original projection” of up to 200,00 deaths, Dr. Fauci adds.

Despite mainstream outlets’ attempt to drive a wedge between Dr. Fauci and President Trump, the two are working together to combat COVID-19, and deliver an accurate representation of the situation to the American people during the task force briefings.
