Chris Cuomo Details What the Coronavirus Put Him Through Tuesday Night

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo announced earlier this week that he has the coronavirus. As a result, he's isolating in his basement because he said giving it to his wife and kids would be more painful than the disease itself.

Despite being chided on air by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Cuomo continued to host his show this week. And it's actually turned out to be some intriguing television. During the Wednesday broadcast of "Cuomo Prime Time," Cuomo detailed his nightmarish Tuesday night.

His fever, he explained, was unlike any fever he's ever had before. At one point he said it climbed to 103.

"It was like somebody was beating me like a piñata," he said. "And I was shivering so much that, Sanjay's right I chipped my tooth."

Cuomo detailed another shocking side effect: hallucinations. His father, Mario Cuomo, died back in January 2015. Yet the CNN anchor recalled having a conversation with his dad last night.

"I was up all night," Cuomo explained. "I'm telling you I was hallucinating. My dad was talking to me. I was seeing people from college. People I haven't seen in forever. It was freaky what I lived through last night."

Gov. Andrew Cuomo told the press that he was "frightened" when he heard that his little brother had the virus. But he was floored by his courage.

"He did a show last night from his basement," Gov. Cuomo said. "What a gutsy, courageous thing to do. Kudos to him. My Pop would be proud. I love you little brother."
